Delivering across Melbourne

Terms

How ordering from Platters by Mai works, in plain words. By placing an order or sending an enquiry, you agree to these terms.

Ordering and confirming

Placing an order online is a request, not a booking. Within 6 hours of ordering, message or call Mai to confirm the details. Orders that aren’t confirmed in that time are cancelled automatically, and nothing is owed.

Once Mai confirms, you’ll get an email with the agreed items, delivery time and price. That confirmation is the order you and Mai have agreed. Mai can decline an order, for example if she’s fully booked or can’t get the produce, and will tell you if so.

Prices and paying

Prices are in Australian dollars. The total at checkout is an estimate; the price Mai confirms with you is the one you pay. There’s no online payment: you pay on delivery, in the way agreed with Mai (for example cash or bank transfer). For some orders Mai may ask for a deposit first.

Sale prices apply while they’re shown in the shop. Promo codes have the conditions shown when you use them, one code per order, and can’t be swapped for cash. Mai can end a promotion at any time; orders already placed keep the discount they were placed with.

Delivery

Mai delivers to the suburbs listed on the delivery page, for the fee shown at checkout. Order by 5pm the day before your delivery.

Someone needs to be there to receive the order in the chosen time window. If nobody’s there, Mai will try to contact you; platters are fresh food, so if they can’t be handed over they may not be redelivered.

Once delivered, keep platters refrigerated and enjoy them the same day.

Changes and cancellations

To change or cancel an order, contact Mai as early as you can. Changes depend on what’s possible at that point.

Mai buys produce for each order, so if you cancel after she has bought it or started preparing it, she may ask you to pay for what’s been used. She’ll tell you before you agree.

Grazing tables and events

Grazing tables are quoted per event. A 30% deposit holds your date. The rest is paid on the day. Get in touch at least two weeks before your event. The details and price are agreed with Mai in writing before your date is held.

Allergies and dietary needs

Each platter shows its dietary tags, and you can add notes for Mai when you order. Everything is prepared in a kitchen that also handles nuts, dairy and gluten, so no platter can be guaranteed free of allergens. If you have a serious allergy, talk to Mai before ordering.

If something’s not right

If anything is wrong with your order, contact Mai on the day of delivery, with a photo if you can, and she’ll put it right. Nothing in these terms limits your rights under the Australian Consumer Law.
